In his efforts to ensure that officers of the Command maintain high professional standard in the discharge of their duties, the Commissioner of Police Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, has warned his men against involvement in civil matters.
The CP also cautioned them against acts of unprofessionalism including extortion, improper dressing while on duty, over-detention of suspects in non-felonious cases, poor documentation of complaints and reports.
At a strategic meeting with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Team Commanders, and Departmental Heads of the Command held on Tuesday, CP Isa also told officers that it was an aberration to post faces of crime suspects on social media, urging them to shun unauthorized transfers of officers on one-year attachment as well as avoid misconduct and acts of impunity.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer PPRO, Abia State Police Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka, the meeting which centered on the recent directives of the Inspector General of Police, also availed the CP opportunity to harp on overt and covert operational strategies to ensure the safety of the state, protection of officers, and security of firearms.
According to the statement, CP Isa warned officers against loss of personnel or arms, and emphasized that preliminary investigations into community-reported cases must be properly handled before transferring such case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.
While highlighting the importance of true leadership, he encouraged officers to lead by example, adding that true leadership is demonstrated through conduct.
The Abia Police boss, advised them to continually build and improve themselves professionally in order to render their best service just as he tasked officers to make early preparations for retirement and ensure they stay healthy.
Speaking on the enforcement of tinted glasses which commences on 2nd October 2025, CP Isa warned officers to conduct themselves with the highest level of professionalism and to avoid extorting from people during the exercise.
He lauded officers for their efforts so far and urged them to keep the flag flying at all times by making positive image of the Force at all times.
