The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, says the claim by the Police in Anambra that it successfully dismantled one of its camps in the State is misleading.
Anambra Police Command had said that the camp allegedly located at Aguluezechukwu, Aguata Local Government Area of the state belonged to the Eastern Security Network, ESN.
But in a statement issued on Thursday, IPOB’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, said the group has no such camps whether in Anambra or anywhere else.
“We have no camp for police to dismantle in Anambra or anywhere else,” the statement said.
The group argued that no evidence has been presented to show that the said camps the security agencies often link to IPOB actually belong to the group.
IPOB challenged the police to make available to the public or the court credible evidence that such camps indeed existed and belonged IPOB.
According to IPOB, the organization is willing to fund investigative teams to travel to the South-East to “see the truth for themselves”.
The group added, “Let it be known: IPOB remains whiter than white. No amount of propaganda can taint our cause, which is rooted in justice, self-determination, and truth.”
