As part of efforts to ensure that Officers of the Abia State Police Command uphold professionalism in their operations, the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), on Monday visited Abia State for a capacity-building workshop.
The team, comprised of National Executive Members, Zonal Coordinators, and the State PCRC Chairman, led by the National PCRC Chairman, Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyi.
Speaking during the courtesy visit on the Commissioner of Police Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, the leader of the delegation, Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyi, revealed that they visited the State for a capacity-building workshop.
A press statement issued to newsmen on Monday evening by the Public Relations Officer PPRO Abia State Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka, added that Olaniyi, lauded the Commissioner of Police CP Danladi Isa for his strides in the fight against crime and criminality.
He also appreciated his commitment in ensuring professionalism among officers of the Command in the discharge of their duties across Abia State.
Responding, CP Danladi Isa, commended the PCRC team for their dedication, hard work, and partnership with the Police from the national extending to the state level.
Isa lauded the Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbotokun for his visionary leadership in crime-fighting strategies and mentorship which according to him has led to various successful operational achievements nationwide.
According to the Abia Police spokesperson, the CP also used the opportunity to appreciate the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti for his unflinching support to the Command.
He noted that the Command has maintained robust collaboration with the state government, relevant stakeholders including the PCRC, sister security agencies and the public.
While emphasizing the need for all Officers to uphold professionalism, CP Isa, stressed that all Officers of the force by virtue of their duties are expected to act as Public Relations Officers as well create positive image within their sphere of contacts.
He assured them of the Command’s unwavering support and partnership just as he reaffirmed the commitment of the Command to eradicate unprofessional practices within the system and to building a crop of officers who are professionally competent, rule-of-law compliant, people-friendly and dedicated to the constitutional mandate of protecting lives and property.
