Elder Onwuka: Ndiolumbe Community Cancels Tuesday Orie Market to Mourn Philanthropist

As a mark of respect for a fallen hero, philanthropist and their illustrious son, Elder John Onwuka, the people of Ndiolumbe Nvosi, Autonomous Community, Isiala Ngwa South LGA of Abia State, has announced the closure of business activities at the Orie Nwankwo Ugo Market on Tuesday, August 26th, 2025.

A public notice sighted by Southeastposts on Sunday, said the one-day mourning, which will be observed from 6am to 6pm on Tuesday, August 26th, 2025, will avail the people of Ndiolumbe opportunity to mourn Elder John Onwuka, a ronouwed philanthropist who impacted lives positively when he was alive.

According to the notice signed by the Traditional Prime Minister of the Community, Mr. Darl. Chibuzor Uzu, the community regrets any inconveniences the closure of the market on the said day will cause traders, sons and daughters of the community among others who rely on the market for daily earnings.

The public notice reads, “We regret to inform the general public especially market women that the Orie Nwankwo Ugo Market Ndiolumbe Nvosi in Isiala Ngwa South LGA of Abia State, will be closed down for all business operations on Tuesday 26/8/2025 from 6am to 6pm.

“Reason for this, is to mourn the death of our illustrious son, Elder John Onwuka who passed on to glory recently.

“The community has therefore declared a one day mourning period on Tuesday August 26, 2025 as a mark of respect for the philanthropist.

‘We regret all inconveniences this may cause the general public.
