The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, has tasked newly elected Executives of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), Abia State chapters to be role models and assist the command in fight against crime.
Isa who made the call on Wednesday while receiving in audience members of the NYCN, warned against shielding criminals in their various communities, urging them to be of good conduct, law abiding and serve as sources of inspiration to other youths.
A statement made available to newsmen on Thursday by the Public Relations Officer PPRO, Abia State Police Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka, revealed that the purpose of their visit was to familiarize themselves with the command, introduce their newly elected executives to the CP, inform him of their mandate, appreciate him for his doggedness in fighting crime in the state, and to further seek sustained collaboration.
The statement revealed that the Abia Police boss during the familiarization visit, assured members of the NYCN and OYC of the continuous support and collaboration of the command with the newly elected representatives of their respective youth groups.
He reminded the youths that because of their population in the society, so much is expected from them, emphasizing that majority of the crime suspects fall within the youth population.
CP Isa reaffirmed the command’s continuous synergy in fighting crime and criminality in the state, emphasizing their role in the fight against crime.
According to DSP Chinaka, the Executive members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) were led by their Chairmen, Mr. Smith Sylvanus, and Mr. Eugene Okoro (JP).
