The Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial Zone, Tony Nwoye has appointed the candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Justina Azuka as a legislative aide.
Southeastposts reports that the appointment as Senior Special Adviser on Special Duties to the federal lawmaker was given to her after she lost the bid to replace her husband.
Recall that Mrs Azuka had contested election for the Onitsha North 1 State Constituency, previously held by her husband, Justice Azuka, before he was kidnapped and eventually killed.
Recall also that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Sunday announced the result of the by-election, declaring the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Mimih Ifeoma Azikiwe winner, while Mrs Azuka came closely behind.
It was learnt that the idea of fielding her as candidate of the ADC was to enable her train her three children left behind by her late husband. But with her loss in the election, Senator Tony Nwoye quickly appointed her as a legislative aide.
Meanwhile , in a photo circulating online, Senator Nwoye was seen handing her an appointment letter just as the Senator confirmed to newsmen after that he truly appointed her.
It was further gathered that her appointment came with a basic salary of N200,000, while this feat has been commended by many, insisting that the appointment will cushion the effect of the loss of the husband as well as assist her to take care of her family.
