The Young Progressive Party (YPP) in Anambra has assured of reviving socio-economic activities in the State if elected in the Nov. 8 governorship election.
Mr Uzu Okagbue, the Deputy Governorship candidate in the election made the promise in Umudioka community, Dunukofia and Ogidi community, Idemili-North Local Government Areas of the Anambra.
He said, “Today, I have the honour of joining my brothers and neighbours in Umudioka and Ogidi as both communities marked the cherished Mkpikpa and Nwafor cultural festivals.
” It is refreshing. It is a stirring reminder that, despite the shadows that now hover over our state, Anambra’s soul is alive and yearning to shine,” he said.
According to him, insecurity in the state has not only shattered lives but has also crippled the state’s economy, halted social vitality, and cast fear over the most sacred communal celebrations.
Okagbue promised that if voted into power on Nov. 8 in the governorship election, the party would tackle insecurity to boost socio-economic activities in the state.
He decried the current situation where security challenges such as armed robbery, kidnapping for ransom, cultism among others have reduced the peoples economic and social lives to the barest minimum.
According to him, this is precisely why Mr Paul Chukwuma and himself are not just committed to politics, but committed to purposeful leadership.
The Deputy governorship candidate noted that the state does not lack potentials to develop, but suffering from misdirection.
