EBSU Pegs Admission Cut-off Mark at 150

Southeastposts can authoritatively confirm that the management of Ebonyi State University (EBSU) has set 150 as the minimum cut-off mark for admission into any of its programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

EBSU made the announcement in a statement by its Admission Ofiicer, Mr Innocent Izekwe, on Thursday in Abakaliki.

The institution said the cut-off mark of 150 is in line with the National Universities Commission (NUC) guidelines.

The management also noted that it had set internal cut-off marks for various faculties and departments.

Giving further insights, the institution said for the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, the cut-off mark is as follows: Mass Communication — 160, while other programmes in the faculty have a cut-off of 150.

In the Faculty of Sciences, the cut-off mark for the Computer Science department is 170, while other programmes remain at 150.

The university has also approved a 150 cut-off mark for all programmes in the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources Management, adding that the Faculty of Education has a uniform cut-off mark of 150 for all courses.

Furthermore , in the Faculty of Engineering and Environmental Sciences, the approved cut-off marks are: Chemical Engineering — 170, Civil Engineering — 150, Electrical and Electronics Engineering — 170, and Environmental Sciences — 150 for all courses.

For the Faculty of Medicine, the university has set the following cut-off marks: Medicine and Surgery — 240, Anatomy and Physiology — 160 each.

In the Faculty of Health Science and Technology, the cut-off marks are: Nursing Science — 210, Medical Laboratory Science — 180 while in the Faculty of Law, the approved minimum cut-off mark is 170.

The university stressed that candidates must not only meet the minimum cut-off scores for their chosen programmes but also fulfill all other admission requirements set by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the institution.
