As part of the ongoing efforts at overhauling the Public Service, the Head of Service (HOS) of Abia State, Mr. Benson Ojeikere has challenged Civil Servants to display their professional expertise in their respective areas of responsibility.
Speaking to Civil Servants, Mr. Ojeikere said that high-quality output is germane in building a personal hallmark of excellence.
A release on Wednesday by the Director, Information and Public Relations, Office of the State HOS, Adaeze Ralph Igbokwe, stated that Ojeikere emphasized the importance of timely and accurate task completion, ensuring error-proof work.
He insisted that Civil Servants can build their reputation by distinguishing themselves as reliable and competent professionals dedicated to serving the Government and the public effectively.
According to the statement, the Head of Service who stressed the importance of accountability and quality service delivery, directed the Bureau of Common Services, and Service Monitoring to monitor the implementation of Government policies and programmes to ensure that the targets are met.
Mr Ojeikere also made it clear that sanitizing the Service is a task that must be accomplished while calling on the workforce to join hands in transforming the Civil Service into a beacon of efficiency and public trust.
