Abia LP Chair Lauds Gov Otti for Reviving Abia

The State Chairman Labour Party (LP), Abia State chapter, Sir. Emmanuel Oti, has commended the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, for the successful commissioning of the Aba Export Growth Lab which is an effort aimed at boosting business and providing a platform for export development in the State.

Speaking exclusively to Southeastposts after the commissioning on Tuesday at the premises of the Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba, Sir Oti, said he had no doubts right from the onset that Governor Otti is what Abia and Abians have been lacking all these years, stressing that his developmental strides since assumption of office has been top-notch.

He lauded the Governor for the various interventions in road infrastructure, health, recruitment of teachers among others his administration has carried out since assumption, saying that Abia is in safe hands under Governor Alex Otti and that the Governor is reviving Abia State.

“You see when the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice. We all are seeing the impact of Governor Otti’s administration. Apart from being the LP Chairman in the State, I think I also share in the massive turnaround that Abia State has witnessed under Governor Alex Otti. Before now, we witnessed poor infrastructure, name it, salaries were not paid as and when due, but today, the story has changed.

Sir Oti used the opportunity to congratulate the Managers of the Aba Export Growth Lab, urging them to heed the advise of the Governor of the State particularly in the area of ensuring that they do not compromise quality.

He also enjoined them not to feel jittery approaching the Chief Executive of the State wherever they meet challenges, stressing that Governor Otti has a listening ear and will offer them professional advise when confronted with difficult situations.

Earlier, while unveiling and commissioning the Aba Export Growth Lab, the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti said Aba has always needed a whole lot more support than it has been getting for decades.

The Governor explained that the essence of commissioning the Aba Export Growth Lab is to support entrepreneurs in the State to structure their production, standardise and package them in a way the products would be competitive in the global market.

He challenged the managers of the project not to compromise quality but to uphold standards, highlighting the need for them to fail any product that is sub-standard and ensure that specifications are maintained,

Contributing, the Commissioner for Industry and SMEs, Mazi Mike Akpara, said the Aba Export Growth Lab is established to create a pathway for Aba and Abia businesses to gain access to the global market, noting that the project is expected to empower entrepreneurs to be visible in the global market and is targeting 20 businesses as pilot, while focusing on 3 areas, including, Akwete cloth, footwear and fashion apparels.
