She said the ATIVAP vanguards installation commenced in public schools, adding that the club had been installed in tertiary institutions and the process is ongoing in 3 private schools as well.
She said brigades were also set up in primary schools to empower pupils to detect, prevent, report cases of human trafficking and serve as peer educators to other children who are not opportuned to be there.
In her words, “For brigades, we talk with children from 5 to 10 years-old to awaken their mindsets to issues in trafficking and violence against persons.”
Offor expressed satisfaction with the level of awareness on dangers of human trafficking and acknowledged the contributions of traditional rulers in the fight against the menace in the state.
She further hinted that no fewer than 30 cases were recorded between January and June 2025 while also listing cases received to include: human trafficking, sexual exploitation, child labour, domestic servitude, child marriage, internal and external trafficking.
