Abia Journalist Norah Okafor Earns Ambassadorial Title

Protect the Precious Foundation has appointed Abia Journalist, Norah Okafor as 1 of the 500 Girls and Women Speak Ambassador.

In a congratulatory message announcing the feat, made available to newsmen on Monday by the Research and Communications Officer, Protect the Precious Foundation, Ijeoma Salome Ogwurumba, she revealed that this incredible honour of Ambassador recognizes Norah Okafor’s unwavering dedication to speaking up for the girl child.

According to the statement, Ambassador Okafor’s advocacy, has also helped in changing the narrative on negative norms and stereotypes, saying her doggedness in advocacy and commitment to empowering women and girls across Abia State is second to none.

The Research and Communications Officer expressed optimism that with this title, Ambassador Okafor will inspire more movement that will amplify the voices of women and girls, protecting their rights, empowerment and well-being.

While expressing the confidence of the Foundation, Ogwurumba said that Ambassador Okafor will make a resounding impact, driving positive change and fostering a community that will uplift and support one another, devoid of all forms of stereotypes, negative norms, and gender based violence.

The statement reads: “I am delighted to see Ambassador Norah Okafor take on this pivotal role as it is a well deserved honour. Her passion for the girl child resonates personally which led to the existence of the foundation, championing the course via our vision and mission statement, and we stand by her for greater achievement and impact”.
