A vocal On-Air-Personality in Abia State, Henry Onyenweife, popularly known as MC Pipiro on Wednesday reacted to a statement credited to an erstwhile Governor of Abia state and the Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.

The federal lawmaker had during an interview with journalists, said “Nigerians do not like working hard to earn their money.”

Checks by Southeastposts, revealed that the statement drew reactions from Nigerians on social media as they disagreed with the senator, arguing that Nigerians work so hard to survive amid harsh economic realities in the country.

Meanwhile, in a Facebook post on his verified account, Henry Onyenweife faulted the comment credited to the senator, saying it is an “insult” to Nigerians who are facing untold hardship orchastrated by wrong policies of the APC led federal government.

Onyenweife, maintained that senator Orji Uzor Kalu, owe Nigerians an unreserved apology for discrediting and failing to appreciate the hardworking people of Nigeria who are surviving out of their personal struggles.

The post reads, “For the first time in a long while, I have never felt so bad and emotional the way I did today, I felt so bad during my show this morning while reading out some Newspaper headlines credited to the Senator representing Abia North and former governor of Abia state, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.”

“I kept wondering what inspired the senator to dish out those insulting statements on hardworking Citizens of this country, market women and men hustling from 3am at Mile 12 market Lagos, Mile 3 market Port Harcourt, Oil mill market Port Harcourt, Ariaria market Aba, Nnewi market Anambra, what about our Ishi gate market here in Umuahia, just to mention but a few, where families struggle to sell their goods just to feed home…Yet the Senator representing Abia North referred to these Struggling People as Nigerians who are not hardworking and are after cheap money.”

“After all these my hustle, waking up so early while some are sleeping, going to work so early while some are enjoying that early morning sleep, hitting the studio day and evening, shooting contents with my spare time, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu still open mouth talk say we Nigerians Love cheap money, that we are not hard working people… This is a very big insult to every hardworking Nigerian out there struggling with this harsh economy, and I think Nigerians deserve “an apology” from Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
You can’t insult hardworking Nigerians just because you want to play some Sycophantic politics and praise singing for President Tinubu’s re-election and your third term ambition, it’s totally unfair Sir, just because I want to sound respectful this evening as a Deeper life boy.”

“When you are on top, don’t make we Nigerians that are working hard to look as if life doesn’t favour us just because you are opportuned to be there,” Onyenweife concluded.
