Mid-term Anniversary: Gov Otti’s Transformative Leadership has Reshaped Abia ~ Ogbonna

The Abia State Commissioner for Environment, Mr Philemon Asonye Ogbonna, says the milestone Governor Alex Otti has attained these two years in office is a reflection of the transformative leadership and commitment he has shown in reshaping the environmental landscape of the state.

Ogbonna who stated this on Tuesday in a congratulatory message made available to newsmen titled, “Congratulations To The Trailblazer & Great Achiever Of Our Time, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, Governor, Abia State”, Ogbonna stated that under Governor Otti, Abia has witnessed remarkable improvement in Aba and Umuahia.

According to him, the cities of Umuahia and Aba which were hitherto described as dirty cites, now wear a new face of cleanliness , orderliness, good aesthetics among others, stressing that it is only a committed leader that can change the narrative within a short space of time.

The Commissioner said, “This milestone is a reflection of the transformative leadership and steadfast commitment you have demonstrated in reshaping the environmental landscape of our dear state. Under your guidance, Abia has experienced a remarkable renaissance, particularly in the cities of Aba and Umuahia, which now proudly wear a new face of cleanliness, order, and ecological rejuvenation.

“Aba, once overwhelmed by environmental filth and neglect, now stands as a beacon of urban renewal. Your decisive actions have restored the dignity of the Enyimba City through extensive desilting of drainage systems, proper waste management and a comprehensive sanitation campaign that has brought both aesthetic and health benefits to Ndị Aba. Streets once overtaken by refuse are now clean and vibrant, reflecting your administration’s commitment to sustainable urban living.

“Continuing, “In Umuahia, the state capital, we have also witnessed a transformation marked by beautification projects and environmental enforcement initiatives that have elevated the city’s status and livability.

Ogbonna reaffirmed the commitment of the Ministry of Environment to continue supporting and working in close collaboration with Governor Otti to consolidate on the gains recorded by his administration and build an even healthier and greener future for generations to come.
