In what appears to be a new dawn for both Agents of Government, the State Director Department of States Services (DSS), Abia State Command, Ibrahim Abdullahi, has promised the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Abia State of his command’s continuous collaboration, support and synergy towards the safety and security of corps members in the state.
The DSS also advised corps members against unapproved journeys due to the risks involved.
The assurance came on Wednesday when the State DSS Boss received in his office, the State Co-ordinator, NYSC Abia state, Barr. (Mrs.) Gladys Adama, who came on a courtesy visit.
He said his office will immediately carry out vulnerability assessment of all NYSC facilities in the state for further necessary actions and that the command will do everything to make the scheme comfortable.
Mr. Abdullahi congratulated the NYSC Co-ordinator on her numerous achievements during her one year in office and added that he was delighted to receive her, while acknowledging the importance of the scheme to the nation.
The DSS Director appealed to corps members to have positive attitude towards the service and ensure they make positive impact during the service year.
Earlier, Mrs. Adama congratulated and welcomed the Director to Abia State. She stated that she was in his office to appreciate the DSS for all their support to the scheme in the past and to solicit for more support as the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream I orientation course approaches.
Adama while appreciating the intelligence organisation for their positive roles in the affairs of the scheme, appealed for more support in presenting the situation of the NYSC state Secretariat to the state government whom she acknowledged, have commenced rehabilitation of the orientation camp.
