Abia Head of Service, Mr. Benson Ojeikere, has once again charged Abia Civil/Public Servants to abstain from demanding money or other forms of gratification from the public in exchange for services rendered.
The State Head of Service who made the call while addressing staff in Umuahia, said it is unacceptable for Civil Servants to use their positions for personal gains, declaring that such behaviour will no longer be condoned.
He said any Civil/Public Servants found guilty of demanding bribes or other forms of gratification from the public will face the full weight of the law and urged the public to report any act of corruption using the Service email betterrservice@abiastate.gov.ng.com.
The Director of Information, Adaeze Ralph Igbokwe in a release, stated that Mr. Ojeikere reminded the workforce of the present administration’s zero-tolerance policy to corruption as non negotiable insisting that any civil or public servant found engaging in acts that undermine this policy will be sanctioned.
The Abia HoS, stated that eliminating corruption and restoring trust in the Service are tasks that must be accomplished and charged Civil/Public Servants to carry out Government operations with integrity and transparency.
