Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has presented the 2025 draft budget proposal of seven hundred and fifty billion, two hundred and eighty-two million, two hundred thousand Naira (N750, 282, 200, 000.00) only, to the State House of Assembly for consideration and approval.
Presenting the budget estimate on Tuesday at the chambers of the Assembly, the Governor who said the Budget christened, “The Budget of Sustained Momentum” took cognizance of major economic headwinds such as inflation and exchange rate instability which have dealt harshly with fiscal plans.
The Budget of Sustained Momentum” represents about 30% increase from the 2024 budget of N523 billion.
Otti assured that the budget was prepared with input from citizens and prioritizes the state’s development needs.
On his part, the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa commended Governor Alex Otti for representing the interest of Abians in the 2025 Budget as he is placing premium infrastructural development of the State at the forefront.
The Speaker also assured the governor that the legislative arm will co-operate with the executive, to deliver dividends of democracy to Abians.
