The Senator Representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Col. Austin Akobundu (Rtd), has described the ongoing State Congress of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, as impressive as well as a reflection of the ideals of the party.
Senator Akobundu, who stated this shortly after casting his vote at the ongoing exercise holding at Sacramento Event Centre Isicourt, Umuahia, added that the party has been known over the years to comport themselves during occasions like that of today.
He said as a former National Organizing Secretary of the party, he stood for transparency, affirming that the accreditation process was credible, as well as every other process.
Senator Akobundu, who admitted that it is contest that must produce winners and losers, urged eventual winners to take responsibility by carrying everyone along, adding that it is what the party stands for.

Earlier in his opening remark, the returning Officer, and Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, told delegates to comport themselves during the elections.
He said the process is germane to the party at the national and state levels, expressing optimism that the party after the State Congress, will have a new look for the purpose of reclaiming Abia State in 2027.
Correspondent reports that voting was still ongoing as at the time of filing this report while delegates have comported themselves so far.
