Imo Police Command Uncover Camp Allegedly Belonging to IPOB, ESN

Imo State Police Command says it has busted a camp allegedly belonging to the militia arm of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, the Eastern Security Network, ESN.

It said the command’s anti-kidnapping unit busted the camp in Nempi, Oru West Local Government Area of the state.

Disclosing this, the Police Public Relations Officer, Henry Okoye, said the operation took place on October 19, 2024, adding that the 29 suspects were arrested and arms were recovered during the operation.

In a press release, Okoye said a key suspect, Anukuru Nnana Emmanuel, 25, was arrested.

The release reads: “The dislodgement of this camp is part of the Command’s ongoing efforts to combat violent crimes and restore peace within the state.”
