Nigeria’s Minister of Works, David Umahi, says the South-East geopolitical zone now occupies its rightful place in Nigeria’s affairs under President Bola Tinubu.
Umahi stated that Tinubu addressed long-standing marginalisation concerns by ensuring greater inclusion of the South-East in national development.
He spoke at the weekend while inspecting ongoing federal projects in Ebonyi State, including the Trans-Sahara Super Highway and other roads linking neighbouring states.
Umahi highlighted significant investments in South-east infrastructure, showcasing the federal government’s commitment.
He urged residents to support Tinubu’s re-election bid, saying “the tide is changed” and the zone is “now counted” in national affairs.
Umahi pledged to play a significant role in Tinubu’s campaign while supervising ongoing projects.
He commended Ebonyi Governor, Francis Nwifuru for paying compensation for some projects, enabling progress.
