Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State says his administration has improved the road network across the state, zone by zone, making life easier for residents, promoting commerce, and boosting economic activities.
Uzodimma stated that the administration’s approach to infrastructure development is guided by the understanding that good roads are critical to mobility, trade, and overall development.
In a post on his verified X handle, he highlighted that Owerri-Onitsha Road is a notable example, saying it has been transformed into a well-constructed, smooth, and durable roadway supporting heavy traffic and ensuring safer, faster movement for commuters and businesses.
The Governor noted that the 33.1km road stretch cuts across five local government areas – Owerri Municipal, Owerri West, Mbaitoli, Oru East, and Oru West, and the reconstruction addressed the previously failed section at the Mgbidi-Oguta intersection.
Uzodimma emphasised that the project is “a reconnection of our dear State” and pledged to address other critical roads across Imo State.
