The State Executive Council of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Abia State chapter on Monday withdrew its services over unresolved issues with the state government.
A statement jointly signed by the Chairman PASAN, Comrade Sunday Kalu and the Secretary, Comrade Ugochukwu Ucheka and made available to journalists on Monday, said this was part of the resolutions reached after a meeting held on Sunday, 23rd November 2025, to discuss critical issues affecting the Union, particularly the non-implementation of the Consolidated Legislative Salary Structure (CONLESS) in the State.
According to the statement, staff of the Assembly who had showed up for work on Monday before they were mandated to go home, will no longer render further service(s) until the State Government resolves to implement CONLESS as directed by the national body.
PASAN added that the Assembly complex will be closed henceforth, advising the staff to stay at home in compliance with the industrial action.
The statement while highlighting the need for compliance, revealed that the State Executive Council will communicate further on the next line of action pending the outcome of the meeting with the State Government.
