The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ebonyi State, Dr. Mrs. Jennifer Nwafor, has stated that the adoption of the party by coalition partners as their platform to wrest power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) has rekindled their efforts to dismantle the APC in the state.

Nwafor, in a chat with newsmen in Abakaliki, said that the adoption of the party has sent a clear message to the ruling APC in the state of the danger ahead, pointing out that the party intends to ensure that it wins all the elections in Ebonyi State.

She admonished coalition partners in Ebonyi State to unite and win future elections, and bring about the needed change Nigerians yearn for.

Speaking on the state affairs of the party, Adibe said, “In Ebonyi State, just like what is going on in every other state, after the announcement by the coalition partners, we went back to our drawing board to see how we can do everything we can to proceed.

Nwifuru added, “What we are doing now is no longer what we used to do because now we are going down to the grassroots to get more people to know about the party,” adding that plans are underway for a program in order to create awareness for the party.

The ADC chairman hinted that since the announcement of the coalition, the party has been engaging with other coalition partners to reposition and strengthen itself.

She said, “Many people have been calling, many have been registering. Within the past four days, we have registered more than 2,000 members. So, many are still calling, many are still needing to register.

“This week, we have had meetings with the stakeholders, that is, with our coalition partners. So, after that, we will do a lot of programs and raise more awareness. So that people will know that, yes, this is truly the ADC. ADC is not two in Ebonyi State. And we don’t have two ADCs in Nigeria. It’s only one ADC.”

Nwafor denied allegations of betraying the party by working for the ruling APC in the state, stressing that nobody was sponsoring her.
