Abia State government on Monday expressed dismay over growing incidents of cult activities in the State, directing security agencies in the State to apprehend the undescribable elements.
Abia State Commissioner for Information, Okey Kanu who made this known at Government House Umuahia on Monday while briefing Journalists on the outcome of this week’s executive council meeting presided over by Governor Alex Otti, added that no cult group would be allowed to disturb the peace of innocence citizens of Abia.
“The State government has observed with dismay the growing incidents of cult activities in the State.”As a responsible government, this administration will spare no efforts in ensuring that the State is rid of cult activities “, Kanu said.
The Abia Information boss, also announced that staff of Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba who were disengaged between 2018 and 2022 by the previous administration have started recieving their payments, with 249 persons already paid.
Kanu also disclosed that the recruitment of health workers in the State which was approved by Governor Otti has commenced, with the application portals already thrown open by the Abia State Service Commission for interested applicants.
