The South-East Zone of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) has commended the Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Senator Augustine Akobundu (Rtd), for his unflinching support for the Party.
At an expanded Zonal meeting of the party held in Umuahia on Friday, the Zonal Vice Chairman PDP South-East, Egwu Goodluck, the State Chairman Abia State PDP, Elder Abraham Amah and PDP Chairman, Imo State, Austin Nwachukwu, all acknowledged the numerous supports rendered to the party by Senator Akobundu and the Immediate past Governor of Abia State Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.
They noted that unlike others who stopped identifying with the party after the election because of reasons best known to them, the duo of Senator Akobundu and Ikpeazu have continued to build bridges and have continued to serve as sources of inspiration to others in the party, urging them to continue the good work.
Also during the meeting, the South-East Zone of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, recognized Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the authentic National Secretary of the PDP.
Justifying the rationale behind their decision, they hinged their support on the Supreme Court judgement that affirmed Senator Anyanwu as the authentic National Secretary of the party, calling aggrieved members across board to return to the fold to strengthen the party.
