Abia State Government says Public Service Rules would be enforced to ensure strict compliance to Civil Service disciplinary standards.

The Head of Service, Mr. Benson Ojeikere, who dropped the hint while addressing Civil Servants in Umuahia, said indiscipline is a major obstacle militating against efficient service delivery in the State Civil Service.

A statement by the Director of Information to the HOS, Adaeze Ralph Igbokwe, quoted the Head of Service as having emphasized the need to eliminate this challenge without delay, asserting that Government’s unwavering commitment to restoring discipline in the service remains sacrosanct.

Ojeikere charged Civil Servants to exhibit ethical conduct, a strong sense of duty, and professionalism to change negative perceptions surrounding the Service.

The Abia Head of Service harped the importance of cultivating personal integrity to restore the reputation and dignity of the Civil/Public Service.
