As the gale of defection continues in Abia, a member of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in the State and member representing Bende North in the Abia State House of Assembly, Nnamdi Ibekwe on Tuesday dumped PDP for Labour Party.
The development has now increased Labour Party’s majority in the Abia State House of Assembly.
Southeastposts reports that his membership of LP was announced during plenary by the Speaker, Emmanuel Emeruwa.
This is coming six days after Ibekwe announced his resignation from the PDP because of what he tagged party crises.
This defection is also seen as another setback for the PDP whose leaders at the state and zonal levels have been making efforts to reach out to aggrieved members of the party.
