The Ebonyi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to improving the educational sector of the state.

Professor Nwobashi, who acknowledged some past failures in the sector nationwide, stated that the Ebonyi State governor, Francis Nwifuru, in his pursuit of the People’s Charter of Needs agenda, has prioritised education as the foremost focus of the current administration.

He revealed that while 36 modern school projects are ongoing, an additional 26 storey buildings, each with twelve classrooms, are also being erected in various parts of the state to enhance public school infrastructure.

Nwobashi assured principals that the state government is prepared to provide them and their schools with necessary tools, including vehicles, to facilitate their operations and ensure optimal productivity.

Earlier, an ANCOPSS consultant, who also serves as the principal of Science School, Igbeagu, Mr Christopher Nwoba, lamented the administrative challenges between junior and senior secondary school principals, referred to as the UBEB and SUBEB system, and appealed to the Ebonyi State Government to review the operations of both bodies in order to advance the system.

Also speaking, the Ebonyi State President of ANCOPSS, Mr Chukwu Emmanuel Emmanuel Eze, expressed gratitude to the state governor, Francis Nwifuru, and the Ministry of Education, led by Professor Nwobashi, for their support in ensuring the successful conduct of the Congress in the state.
