The Abia State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has officially announced the dates for the anticipated mid-term break for the second term of the 2024/2025 academic session.
According to a release personally endorsed by the Commissioner for Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Elder Goodluck Ubochi and made available to newsmen on Friday, the break is slated to commence on Thursday, February 27 and will end on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
The release further stated that the mid-term break applies to all public and Private Primary, Secondary, and Technical Schools across Abia State, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the uniform calendar for resumption, mid-term, and closing dates, which applies to all educational institutions within the state.
According to the Ministry, this harmonized approach is designed to ensure consistency and co-ordination across the state’s educational sector just as the release urged all schools to comply with the announced dates.
The Ministry cautioned that failure to adhere to the directive would attract consequences from the Ministry, reiterating the need for strict adherence to the established academic calendar.
