Abia CP Condemns Acts of Incivility by Officers, Men of the Command

The Commissioner of Police Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, has condemned in strong terms, what he described as an act of unprofessional misconduct and incivility toward members of the public.

This is coming on the sidelines of a viral video on social media (Facebook), depicting some police officers manhandling a civilian. The incident is alleged to have occurred along Lagos Street, Umuahia on February 20, 2025.

In a press statement signed by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Maureen Chioma Chinaka, the Police Chief said the officers involved have been identified, and are currently under interrogation at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).

He assured the public that the outcome of the investigation would be made available to the public after necessary administrative actions are taken against the erring officers.

The number one police officer of the command reiterated his commitment in ensuring a professionally competent, Rule of law compliant, and people-friendly police force in line with the vision of the Inspector General of Police.

CP Isa therefore advised the public to report any misconduct, unprofessional behavior, or incivility by officers of the Command to the Complaint Response Unit via 09031593827, 09035401645.
