The Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) have expressed gratitude to Dr. Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun, wife of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun for empowering the wife of officers in Abia State.
The mega empowerment program which was held at Ochendụ International Conference Center Ụmụahịa on Friday was organized to empower the families, wives of Late police officers, wives of police officers, and other women in her organization.
The national president of POWA, Dr. Egbetokun stated that the program was designed to empower women financially, vocationally among others, expressing optimism that the program will enhance the economic well-being of women in the organization.
Speaking during the event, the Commissioner for Police Abia State, CP Danladị Isa, lauded the government of Abia State and others who contributed to the success of the mega empowerment program.
He re-emphasized the relevance of the empowerment, saying it was designed to console the families of officers who lost their loved ones in the course of safeguarding the state and the nation in general.
On their part, beneficiaries including Jay Ịbe, Mrs. Desmond expressed happiness for being empowered at the program, stressing that items received would assist them in their businesses.
Expressing her gratitude to the wife of the IGP, Kama Ọlụchị disclosed that it has not been easy since the demise of her husband, She appreciated God and those He used to impact her life positively .
Southeastposts reports that about 500 women received sewing machines, bags of rice, refrigerators, packs of noodles among others.
