The President and founder, Vision Africa International, Bishop Dr. Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha, has once again restated his earlier call for political solution in the case between the Federal Government and the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The 2023 Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, who reaffirmed his position on Monday, during an interaction with journalists in Umuahia, said his recent visit to the IPOB leader in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), also revolved around his earlier call for political solution.

He said instead of rooting for legal solution, what is key and utmost, is for all concerned in the South-East geopolitical zone to appeal to the President Bola Tinubu led Federal Government to grant political solution to a man who loves his people and has promised to ensure that there is peace in the region if released.

Bishop Onuoha noted that after a deep conversation with him during his last visit, and having pointed out to the powers that be on the need to grant Kanu political solution, it has become imperative for the Federal Government to go in the direction of the court that has called for his release.

He said, “All that the people of South-East and men of conscience are saying is that he should be released. Since the court has also asked for his release, I think it is wise for the Federal government to act in that direction by freeing the IPOB leader.

The cleric hinted that during his visit, he saw a man who has remained calm, resolute, showing great commitment and willingness to work with all towards finding solutions to the problems in the South-East, adding that it behoves on all in the region to appeal to the powers that be to find this needed solution.

The Global Peace Award Winner, 2013, said lack of justice in the country today, aligns with the position of the IPOB leader, emphasizing that the absence of justice in the land is staring at the faces of all as many people have died through stampede in a quest for food.

He decried the recent stampede in Oyo, Abuja and Anambra states pointing out that it is not a tribal problem, rather one that has transcended regions of the country to attest to the fact that the hunger in the land knows no bound, calling on leaders at all levels to stem the hardship in the country before the poor speak in a voice that will not be favourable to the powers that be.
