A scribe of the apex Igbo sociocultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, has hailed the arrest of self-acclaimed Biafra Prime Minister, Simon Ekpa in Finland as a huge relief to the Igbos and South-East.

Isiguzoro said Ekpa’s arrest by the District Court of Päijät-Hame in Finland, is a pivotal moment in the ongoing struggle to ensure peace and security in South-East.

According to him, Ekpa’s arrest on charges of public incitement to commit a crime with terrorist intent is a significant turning point.

Isiguzoro lamented that the South-East has endured hardship due to Ekpa’s campaign of terror and violence.

He said, “For over three years, the Southeast has endured considerable hardship due to Mr. Ekpa’s relentless campaign of fear, terror, and violence.

“His unlawful enforcement of the Monday Sit-At-Home order has resulted in catastrophic economic ramifications, amounting to a staggering loss of over 22 trillion naira in investment opportunities.

He also said, “The Igbos have not forgotten the harrowing consequences of the Biafra War and are resolutely unprepared to return to a path of violence.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo stands firm in its conviction that individuals like Simon Ekpa are not fit to lead our sophisticated and vibrant nation into unprovoked conflict.
