IPAC in Abia Hails Outcome of LG Polls

Political parties in Abia State have said that they are satisfied with the outcome of the November 2 local government election conducted by the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission, ABSIEC.

They also cautioned local government-elected chairmen and their councillors against isolating those who lost in the election, urging them to run an all-inclusive administration.

Their position was made known on Saturday in Umuahia by the chairmen of various political parties in Abia State in their post-election briefing.

The address, which was read by the Abia State chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, Nelccin Uluocha and Joseph Ulu, the publicity secretary, said that IPAC has not received any complaint from any party chairman protesting against the outcome of the local government polls.

Uluocha, who is also the state chairman of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, said that a review done by his council on the November 2 polls showed that the election was credible and not manipulated in favour of any political party.

The IPAC chairman advised candidates who are not satisfied with his results to consult with their party chairmen and follow the laid-down rules in presenting their complaints rather than using the media to overheat the Abia polity.
