Enugu State Waste Management Authority has cancelled the monthly clean-up exercise that was scheduled to be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024.

A release on Friday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Water and Waste, Andreas Gebauer, said the cancellation was due to the state-wide funeral rites in honour of the late President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.

The statement reads,“The cancellation was due to the state-wide funeral rites in honour of the late President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, scheduled to be held the same Saturday, October 26, 2024, in Enugu.”

Gebauer, however, advised Ndi Enugu to always keep their environment clean and bag their waste properly before disposal to make the evacuation easier for the evacuators, adding that all inconveniences regarding the Clean Up cancellation are highly regretted.

The funeral rites for Iwuanyanwu, the late President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, will commence on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, while he will be buried on November 1, 2024.
