The Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has assigned Portfolios to the newly appointed Commissioners who were sworn-in on Wednesday.
In a Facebook post by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, Governor Otti further effected a minor reshuffle of his cabinet and created a few more ministries.
The new composition of the State Executive Council is as follows: Mr. Ikechukwu Uwanna is to serve as the Honourable Attorney General & Commissioner For Justice, Prince Uzo Nwachukwu – Commissioner, Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs; Mr. Uwaoma Ukandu – Hon. Commissioner for Finance; Mr. Kingsley Anosike – Hon. Commissioner for Budget and Planning; Mr. Okey Kanu – Hon. Commissioner for Information; Mr. Goodluck Ubochi – Hon. Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education; Prof. Uche Eme Uche – Hon. Commissioner for Tertiary Education.
Others include: Prof. Enoch Ogbonnaya Uche – Hon. Commissioner for Health; Dr. Mrs. Maureen Ijeoma Aghukwa – Hon. Commissioner for Women Affairs; Mrs. Blessing Ngozi Felix – Hon. Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection; Mr. Philemon A. Ogbonna – Hon. Commissioner for Environment; Prof. Joel F. Ogbonna – Hon.Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources; Mr. Kingsley Chibueze Nwokocha – Hon. Commissioner for Trade & Commerce; Mr. Mike Akpara – Hon. Commissioner for Industry & SMEs; Mr. Nwaobilor Ananaba – Hon. Commissioner for Youth & Sports.
Also in the list are Mr. Mathew Ekwuruibe who will serve as Hon. Commissioner for Arts, Culture & Creative Economy; Mr. David Kalu will serve as the Hon. Commissioner for Science, Technology & Innovation; Mr. Chaka Chukwumerije – Hon. Commissioner for Lands & Housing; Engr. Don Otumchere Oti – Hon. Commissioner for Works; Dr. Chimezie Ukaegbu – Hon. Commissioner for Transport; Engr. Ikechukwu Monday – Hon. Commissioner for Power & Public Utilities and Comrade Sunny A. Onwuma will serve as Hon. Commissioner for Labour & Productivity.
