The Anambra State Government has announced that it will conduct local government elections in the State on September 28.
Recall that since two years on the saddle, the Prof Chukwuma Soludo-led administration has not conducted local government elections in Anambra State.
Meanwhile, in a press statement on Monday, the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission, ANSIEC, announced that it was ready to conduct the LG polls.
Recall also that Governor Soludo had a week ago inaugurated the members of the Commission, charging them to give Anambra a clean and credible polls.
In Monday’s press statement signed by the Chairman of ANSIEC, Genevieve C. Osakwe, the commission said the election would hold on September 28.
The statement reads“The Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission wishes to inform all registered Political Parties and the general public that Local Government Elections in the State will be held on Saturday September 28, 2024.
“Election Timetable/Schedule of Activities and Other details can be collected from the Headquarters of the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission, Awka, from Wednesday, 14th August, 2024.”
