Former candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for Ezza North for Ishielu Federal constituency in the 2023 general election, Emmanuel Nwite has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state.

Nwite’s defection came two months after the declaration of the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim joined the APC.

Meanwhile, displaying his APC membership at his Ezzagu ward 1 in Ishielu Local Government area, the former PDP Chieftain revealed that his decision to join the APC was not for an immediate political interest but to support the state governor, Francis Nwifuru.

Nwite who joined the APC with thousands of his supporters added that the exemplary leadership disposition of the state governor has endeared him to the people not minding the enormous power at his disposal.

He said: “We are joining the APC to support our governor, Francis Nwifuru, to drive home his Ebonyi People’s charter of needs to all the nooks and crannies of Ebonyi state”.

Nwite stressed that Governor Nwifuru has shown humility to power which has further brought peace and unity to the state irrespective of political affiliations.

He further charged all Ebonyians to support the present administration of Francis Nwifuru in the state and shun any acts capable of jeopardising the lofty visions of the state government.
